Today the Obama administration announced important reforms to federal immigration policy. Longtime residents with clean police records who came here illegally as children, or are close family of military service members, or are parents or spouses of American citizens will no longer be deported. Federal law doesn’t recognize same-sex marriages, but officials said the will consider same-sex spouses as “family” in their review of deportation cases.
